There are two styles of Bow Mount Locks.
The first style replaces the factory knob in the mount. The lock allows you to make height adjustments as you normally would but with the turn of a key the mount is locked securing the motor inside. This lock allows you to remove and reinstall the motor for storage and repairs easily without special tools.

The second style is a unique locking knob that replaces the single cap screw that allows you to remove the motor from the mount. It adds security for your trolling motors while you are away from the boat and allows you to remove and reinstall the motor for storage and repairs easily without special tools.
