A marine electronics unit mounted on a RAM® Mount is easily stolen by unscrewing the knob of the mount and pulling out the unit and its bracket.

With this 4-piece, DuraSafe 2-E-LOCK®s and 2-Swivel Mount Locks set, protection against marine electronics theft is achieved. These locks replace the factory knobs and, once locked, prevents removal.

    The lock keeps the unit secure to the ram mount or to the dash base, BUT, What is to keep someone from unscrewing the base from the dash?

    When installing your bracket and/or swivel mount to your boat use stainless steel screws with a torque head or allen head and stainless-steel nylon-insert hex locknuts. Be sure the stainless-steel screws are at least a 1/2” or more, longer than needed. Taking this extra step will make removal of the bracket screws much harder to remove and requires a wrench and special tools to remove them. It also prevents the mounting nuts from loosening due to vibration.

    Awesome concept and product! Since installing them on all my units, I can honestly say that this is the most secure I have ever felt about leaving my units being right where I left them when I get out of boat to do any number of things. Love the fact that everything is keyed the same including my trailer hitch as well!
