The Transom Trolling Motor Lock is the only lock that fits most current models of Minn Kota®, Shakespeare, Newport Vessel, Trophy Strike & Water Snake transom mount trolling motors. It features a one-piece jaw-like design that encloses the clamp screws of the motor, making them inaccessible. The lock eliminates the hassle of removing and reinstalling the motor and is inexpensive protection. It is lightweight and installs in seconds. Features rattle-proof lining, reversible keys for easy insertion, and a fail-safe locking system that won’t allow the key to be removed unless in the locked position.

Trolling motor lock

Fast shipment and appears to fit on Traxxis 80lb motor

After reading some reviews online and talking with Minn Kota and the fine folks at Durasoft, I decided to give this trolling motor transom lock a try. Most reviews/feedback didn't think it would fit the Traxxis.

I received the lock within a couple days (fast) and simulated how the lock would fit in practice and it seems to fit perfectly well. The cut outs line up perfectly and the top closely securely over the twist downs of the motor clamp.

I plan to install it on my floating dock in the next few weeks and will update this review. If it fits, I think my review of this lock specifically for the Traxxis will allow owners of the Traxxis to safely/confidently purchase this transom mount lock for their motors.

This is the second transom lock I have purchased. The 1st was for a Newport Vessels NV 46 trolling motor which I knew I would have to modify to fit because the transom is bigger than a MinnKota. After modification it worked great and protected my motor from theft. I bought this for a Newport Vessels NV 36 and it fit without any modifications. I am very pleased with the lock and the service
